Barramundi and other predatory fish are known for their aggressiveness but also their occasional wariness, depending on conditions.  A flat sided lure can have slightly different action in the water compared to its round counterpart.  A flat-sided design gives the lure a more subtle, tight wobble.

This is really effective when barramundi are in a more cautious mood, such as during clear water conditions or when they’re pressured by fishing activity. The flat sides can also help the lure maintain a more stable and consistent action, even in faster currents, which is often the environment barramundi like to inhabit, especially around estuaries, tidal creeks, or mangroves.
