Baitrunner OC 4000 is the zenith of the new Shimano Baitrunner Oceania series of fishing reels, which has replaced the original BTR series. Copied by manufacturers worldwide, but never matched, the Baitrunner system superbly matches Australian fishing conditions. The Baitrunner function disengages the drag, which means the fish can play around with the bait you strike. Fish you would target with this Baitrunner OC 4000 include Snapper, Salmon, Mulloway etc.

Weighing about 385 grams, the OC 4000 features Shimano’s Propulsion Line Management system with the ultra-modern propulsion spool lip design, which provides far longer casting distances than the standard spool lip design. This has been determined on basis of thousands of casting assessments and computer simulations.

Shimano Baitrunner OC 4000 has a cold forged alloy spool, 3+1 double sided, shielded stainless steel ball bearings, a gear ratio of 4.8:1, and line capacity of 0.20mm / 260m. It features Varispeed oscillation for accurate, friction-free line lay without any line twist.
